If your business is transitioning from Windows to Mac computers, you may find that some of the software you used on the older computers doesn't have Mac counterparts. However, using Parallels virtualization software, you can install a copy of Windows to run within the Mac OS X operating system, so that Windows works the same as it does when installed on a standard Windows computer. You need a Windows installation DVD or a Windows installation ISO file, which you can download from Microsoft, to install the operating system through Parallels.
1.Click 'Applications' in the dock on the bottom of the screen, then select 'Parallels Desktop.'
2.Click the 'File' menu and select 'New' to launch the Parallels Wizard.
3.Select 'Install Windows from DVD or Image File' from the Wizard window.
4.Insert the installation DVD into the Mac, or click the drop-down list next to 'Install From' and select the ISO file downloaded from Microsoft.
5.Enter your Windows product key in the text box. The product key is provided with the physical DVD or is emailed to you if you purchase Windows online.
6.Click the box next to '64-bit Windows Version' to deselect the option if you are installing the 32-bit version of Windows. Your installation DVD or the receipt for your Windows download describes the version of Windows you purchased.

7.Click 'Continue' at the bottom of the screen to open the 'Integration with Mac' screen.

9.Type a name for the installation in the 'Name' text box.

11.Click the drop-down menu next to 'Location' and select where you want to save the installation.
12.Click the box next to 'Customize Settings Before Installation' if you want to make changes to the Windows settings. This step is optional.
13.Click 'Continue' and then 'Create' to start the installation, which takes approximately an hour to complete.
